The center of San Diego (92101) was moved to the waterfront area in 1867 by Alonzo Horton. After years of neglect in some areas the area has been redeveloped and revitalized. The residential boom in the downtown area has been in part a result of the opening of Petco Park - San Diego's new baseball venue.
